The GS helmet has off-road appeal and a strikingly sporty design. Combining a carbon shell with the integrated neckbands that are typical of BMW’s safety-oriented design, it contributes to maximising safety for the wearer. The helmet peak/spoiler combination was aerodynamically optimised in wind-tunnel tests to achieve the best possible level of wear comfort for active motorcycling.
The design and selection of helmet materials (carbon helmet shell), allow very good impact damping values in all sizes.
The integrated cervical straps, typical of BMW, allow the best results in the helmet exit test, clearly beyond the requirements of the ECE 22.05 standard. The straps of the cervical zone reduce the twist of the helmet. In this way, it is ensured that the helmet, in case of an accident, remains in the best position possible in the head and that offers the protective effect where it is needed. Worldwide, only a few helmets have this function.
The elements in EPS (5 components with different thicknesses, adapted) and interior equipment allow a helmet perfectly adapted to all types of size.
The helmet flap in conjunction with the spoiler was optimized aerodynamically for many hours in the wind channel.
The noise level is, in addition to the helmet itself, dependent on many factors of influence, such as vehicle, windscreen, motorcyclist stature and seat position. The minimum possible noise level is, as a rule, achieved with a laminar air circulation.
The GS helmet is a comparatively quiet Enduro helmet (compared to comparable general conditions).
