Tech-Air® Off-Road is an FIM approved airbag system designed specifically to tackle the rigors of rally driving and provide unrivaled upper body protection. Developed and tested since 2017, in the most grueling conditions of the Dakar Rally, the toughest off-road race in the world, the Tech-Air® Off-Road System offers the most advanced active airbag technology for off-road driving.
The Tech-Air® Off-Road System, with the active airbag inflated, offers full CE Level 1 protection for the chest and back, as well as coverage for the shoulders, neck and collarbones in the event of an accident. The System is integrated with an Alpinestars Off-Road Protection jacket, featuring Level 1 passive protection for the back and limbs, integrated protection on the arms and Level 2 passive protection for the chest, to offer riders greater protection against rocks, debris and other obstacles they may come into contact with on the trail. Designed to tackle any terrain, the System features three driving modes: ENDURO, RALLY and STREET, making it the perfect choice for any type of on-road and off-road driving

TECH-AIR® OFF-ROAD DRIVING MODE: ENDURO, RALLY AND STREET
The Tech-Air® Off-Road System provides protection in ENDURO, RALLY and STREET modes, including impacts against obstacles and falls due to loss of control (commonly called “low-side” and “high-side” falls).

ENDURO mode is optimized for low to medium speed riding where the user travels on unpaved surfaces such as gravel, riverbeds, mud and other natural terrain. Typically, these driving scenarios involve several changes of direction, tackling obstacles and hills at slow speeds.

RALLY mode is optimized for fast off-road routes on any type of terrain and is recommended for driving characterized by longer straight sections, with multiple bumps, and different types of terrain crossed at high speeds, which are difficult to encounter in typical Enduro competitions . Typical environments in which these driving scenarios occur are mainly characterized by desert terrain (with dunes and sandy soils), gravel and open countryside.

STREET mode is optimized for paved roads, and includes situations where the rider's motorcycle is hit by another vehicle while stationary.

MAIN FEATURES OF THE TECH-AIR® OFF ROAD SYSTEM

The first airbag system dedicated to off-road driving, Tech-Air® Off-Road is equipped with 3 driving modes: ENDURO, RALLY and STREET.

You can easily change driving modes, even while on the move, using the button on the LED display located on the front of the System or via the Tech-Air® App.

The Tech-Air® OFF-ROAD System is dual-charged, meaning that with two full gas inflators, the System provides two separate airbag inflations, as only one gas inflator activates to inflate the entire System of airbags during an accident scenario.

Opening the quick release cover allows for quick replacement of the gas inflator by the user (available only in countries where replacement of the gas inflator by private individuals is permitted by local regulations).

A completely autonomous and independent system; 3 accelerometers (1 triaxial accelerometer) and 3 gyroscopes (1 triaxial gyroscope) are integrated into the electronic control unit (ECU) to provide the best crash monitoring performance and active airbag protection in a variety of dynamic driving scenarios off road. External sensors are not required for the operation of the system.

The Tech-Air® OFF-ROAD System uses an integrated and certified lithium ion battery, with a full charge autonomy of 30 hours and a charging time of approximately 4 hours; charging the battery for approximately 1 hour gives approximately 8 hours of use on the motorbike.

The LED display is equipped with a built-in charging port to recharge the System conveniently and easily; simply insert the USB-C cable into the System's LED display charging port and connect it to a power source.

Ease of use: to turn on the Tech-Air® Off-Road System, simply close the zip of the System and it will turn on automatically, activating the airbag system. To deactivate the airbag, open the zip and the system will automatically turn off.

There is a dedicated shipping mode slide switch on the ECU which, once turned on, puts the system into sleep mode. Accessible only once the cover on the rear protector has been removed, the shipping mode switch allows you to disconnect the battery from the System.
